    A historic domain

The viticultural history of Château Renon dates back to the year 1000. At that time, it was a well-established estate on the Tabanac spur. This 19th-century Château was built on the ruins of the medieval castle.

    It's the story

    of a castle

The viticultural history of Château Renon dates back to the year 1000. At that time, it was a well-established domain on the spur of Tabanac. This 19th-century château was built on the ruins of the medieval castle.

It boasts magnificent vaulted cellars where the great wines produced on this exceptional terroir are aged, overlooking the Garonne River flowing in the distance.

The quality and exposure of our terroir, combined with our commitment to perfection both in the vineyard and the cellar, give the wines of Château Renon a quality worthy of the finest Bordeaux Grand Crus.

The ecological and environmental initiatives undertaken in recent years have enabled Château Renon to be certified organic since 2018.

Through various marriages or bequests over the centuries, this property has absorbed the history of the lords and knights who have resided here.

Following the death in 1756 of Henry de Tarneau, a Marshal of the King’s armies, the estate then became a fief of the House of Lur Saluces (former owner of Château Yquem).

Drawing on this rich historical and viticultural past, businessman and patron James Zhou decided to become the owner of the estate. He invested in the property in 2014 and quickly set about restoring the Château Renon to its former glory.

    The domain

    and its wines

An domain in the heart of the Cadillac hills.

It’s in the northeast of Bordeaux, on naturally hilly lands, that our estate is located.

Located on the right bank of the Garonne, the vineyard of Château Renon benefits from optimal conditions for crafting great wines.

The freshness of the valleys and the sunshine on the terraces allow us to produce high-quality wines.

2 hectares of white wine with Cadillac appellation and 6 hectares of red wine with Côtes de Bordeaux-Cadillac appellation.

Our sweet white wine, powerful and refined, is made from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon grapes.

Our Côte de Cadillac, fruity, spicy, and complex, is, in turn, made from a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

For our sweet wine, the harvest is done in crates in 3 or 4 passes, to obtain the ripest grapes.

The red grapes are harvested manually, organized according to the plots and grape varieties.
